Day 108: The thing you cannot say 🤐

Reflect on a recent situation where you held back from expressing your true thoughts.

In her book Scaling People, Claire Hughes Johnson offers a powerful insight for managers: “Say the things you think you cannot say.”

Through my experience receiving feedback from bosses over the years, I’ve come to realize that I value straightforwardness above all else. Just the truth, plain and simple—no sugarcoating necessary.

When we communicate with greater transparency, vulnerability, and honesty—whether in the workplace, friendships, or relationships—we cultivate environments of deeper trust.

And ultimately, that trust makes all the effort worthwhile.

Journal Prompt

Reflect on a recent situation where you held back from expressing your true thoughts.

What were the reasons behind your hesitation? How might the outcome have been different if you had spoken openly and honestly?

Happy journaling,

Kelsey
