Day 126: Burnout 😓
How can you recognize and manage burnout, and what steps can you take now to prevent it in the future?
Today’s journal prompt was inspired by wellness expert and holistic health consultant, Dr. Kendra Kautz.
Having faced burnout multiple times, I thought about crafting a journal entry on the topic. However, I realized it’s best to leave it to the expert.
Over to you, Kendra!
—
We've all been there—mentally drained, physically exhausted, feeling like you’ve hit a wall.
That’s burnout, and it’s more than just being tired. It’s your body’s red flag, signaling that something’s got to change.
At the core of burnout are your adrenal glands and the HPA axis—your stress response command center. When these are overworked, they can lead to symptoms like chronic fatigue, brain fog, and low energy.
The good news? You can reset your system with simple changes: prioritize sleep, manage stress, eat nourishing foods, and exercise wisely.
Now to the prompt.
Journal Prompt
Reflect on a time when you felt completely burned out. What were the signs your body was giving you? How did you manage (or not manage) that stress? What steps can you take today to prevent burnout in the future?
Happy journaling,
Kelsey
