Day 80: Timing experiences ⏳

What experiences would you enjoy at your age now?

Hello!

Today’s journal prompt was inspired by the book Die With Zero by Bill Perkins.

In his book, Perkins makes a claim we’ve all heard before: “Your life is the sum of your experiences.”

But what we often overlook is that timing your experiences is what matters most.

For example, you might not get much out of a trip to Italy when you’re 2 years old, except for a love of Gelato.

Or conquering the Spanish Steps - a bucket list favorite. It might be better to tackle it in your 30s when your knees still bounce, not your 90s when they sound like Rice Krispies with every step.

And backpacking through Southeast Asia? Thrilling at 21, but at 35? You’re probably not as amped to sleep in a bunk bed with strangers, pining for your memory foam pillow.

Now let’s head to the prompt:

What experiences would you enjoy at your age now?

How can you prioritize making those experiences happen now so you don’t miss the window of peak enjoyment?
