Frenchman đŸ„–

What’s something you’ve always been curious about, but never made time to explore?

Years ago, I worked at a marketing agency alongside a client named Louis Grenier, a sharp-witted Frenchman with a foul mouth.

A bit of a legend in the marketing world, he had a way of blowing up conventional thinking and eventually created a podcast and now a book called, Stand the F*ck Out.

What I’ve always appreciated about Louis’s approach is that, while rooted in marketing, his ideas stretch far beyond it.

They're really about how to move through the world thoughtfully.

Take the first section of his book on customer insights. On the surface, it’s about understanding your audience. But at its core, it’s about staying unapologetically curious.

Because without curiosity, creativity evaporates.

As Louis writes, it’s “the kind of curiosity that makes you forget you’re blocking the entire charcuterie aisle at the supermarket because you’re mesmerized by this guy desperately trying to sniff out the aroma of sliced pepperoni through the plastic packaging.”
