Identity đ
Choose your identity and how you will navigate today through that lens.
We've welcomed a wave of new journalers this week, and this was my exact reaction to seeing the community grow so extensively:

I just want to take a moment to thank you for being here! đ«¶
I donât take it lightly that youâve invited me into your inbox and I promise to make these prompts worth your whileâbringing clarity, inspiration, and fresh perspectives.
Now letâs get to it đ
Inspired by the chapter on anxiety in Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before?, todayâs prompt is about making decisions rooted in our values, rather than our fears.
Life becomes richer and more fulfilling when we align our choices with what truly matters to us (i.e. our values).
And our values are a part of our identity.
Want to be more adventurous? Fit and healthy? Sociable and friendly? Defining this for yourself can provide a guiding frameworkâone that helps counter anxious thoughts.
For example, if you feel nervous about starting a conversation but have chosen to identify as someone who is friendly and outgoing, that identity can serve as a compass, helping you navigate social situations despite your anxiety.
Journal Prompt
Decide on the identity you want to embody (e.g., courageous, kind, adventurous, etc.). Now, write about how will you operate in the world today or approach a recent challenge based on that identity.
Happy journaling,
Kelsey
