It’s play or nothing 🪁
What do you do in your life that doesn’t feel playful?
In Nonviolent Communication, Marshall Rosenberg emphasizes the energy behind our actions, urging, "Don’t do anything that isn’t play." He invites us to reflect:
“What do you do in your life that you don’t experience as playful?”
To explore this, list everything you tell yourself you have to do.
Once your list is complete, take a moment to acknowledge that these activities are not obligations—you are choosing to do them.
Then, rewrite each item with “I choose to …” and reflect on your intention behind each choice by completing: “I choose to ___ because I want ___.”
This exercise helps uncover your motivations—approval, avoiding guilt, earning money, etc.—and invites you to consider:
Can I make this activity more joyful or playful?
If not, can I let it go?

What do you do in your life that doesn’t feel playful?
How can you reframe these activities to infuse them with more fun and joy?
If that’s not possible, can you let some of them go?
Happy journaling,
