Pick a word š”
Close your eyes, let a word surfaceāsomething you desire, need, or feelāand write freely about its meaning.
Yesterday, I attended an art class, and it was an absolute delight.
The class began with a guided meditation led by our teacher. She invited us to let a single word surface in our mindsāany word.
Mine was āmarvel.ā
Lately, my life has been so focused on accomplishing tasks and crossing items off my to-do list that I rarely pause to marvel at the beauty all around me.
Once we had our word, we chose an image from a magazine and began expanding on it using mixed media. After 15 minutes of working, we passed our artwork to the person next to us, who then had 15 minutes to add their own creative touch.
The most amazing part? After five rounds of passing our pieces around, my artwork looked even better than I had envisioned.
Though they didnāt know my word (we only shared it afterward), it felt as if they tapped into a collective energy, capturing exactly what I wanted to convey and call into my life.
Hereās the finished piece:

Journal Prompt
Close your eyes for a moment and let a word come to mind. It could represent something you want to invite into your life, something youāre yearning for, or perhaps something universal.
Write about what that word means to you and let your thoughts flow freely.
Happy journaling,
Kelsey
