Simple shift 🔄
Rewrite today’s plans, swapping “I have to” with “I get to.”
Last week, a fellow journaler shared some incredible feedback on the prompt about defining your attitude toward life.
She talked about how she shifts her perspective by replacing “I have to” with “I get to” in her daily activities, such as fueling her car or running errands.
Coincidentally, while reading Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before? last night, I came across the same advice from Dr. Smith as a key strategy for building a gratitude practice.
This simple shift in language helps us intentionally redirect our focus and change our emotional state.
Plus, it instantly makes you feel like you’re surrounded by abundance—which, when you think about it, is exactly the point!
Journal Prompt
Write down your plans for today, but reframe each task from “I have to ___” to “I get to ___.”
Happy journaling,
Kelsey
