Space 🙆‍♀️

What might it look like to fully take up space?

I went for a sports massage last week.

Between the cracking joints and full-body twists, the therapist noticed how tight my hips were. Afterward, as we chatted, I sat with my legs crossed, slightly hunched over, leaning into my thigh.

He gently corrected me and said: “Uncross your legs. Open up. Take up more space. The world will take you more seriously when you do. There’s no need for you to shrink.”

That landed.

I hadn’t realized how much I was physically making myself small. And how it was showing up even in how I sit.

And it made me wonder:

Where else in life do we shrink ourselves without even noticing?

Journal Prompt

In what areas of your life are you still playing small? What might it look like to fully take up space?
